CivicMemory

The public record that remembers.

Public institutions publish, revise, and sometimes quietly delete. Civic Memory retrieves what they publish, hashes it, keeps every version, and shows you exactly what changed and when.

Nothing here is ever silently replaced. If a page said A and later says B, both are kept, both are hashed, and the difference is shown.

What this is for

Evidence, not opinion

Every record keeps the URL, the retrieval time, the HTTP status, the byte count, the SHA-256 and the archived object itself. You can download the exact bytes and hash them yourself.

Derived stays derived

Readable diffs and summaries live in a separate layer that carries the two hashes it came from. Delete all of it and the evidence is untouched.

Symmetrical on purpose

This is not built to defeat a party. It is built so nobody in power can quietly erase what they did, whoever they are.
